We Shuckum . . . You Suckum ! ! !
Mack Carter and his crew have proudly been serving up the freshest, shucked-to-order oysters of every description - raw, baked, sautéed and fried - in the same Panama City Beach restaurant location, since 1967.  Family owned and operated, the atmosphere is fun and casual: from grandparents to grand kids, and everyone in between, Shuckums is a great place for the whole family.   Our full-service restaurant features seafood, sandwiches and entrees, steaks, award winning gumbos, salads and appetizers, all prepared fresh with a snap of down home Southern flavor!   Our kitchen can prepare everything on the menu to go and we offer unique catering for every occasion. So, come on in - or let us bring the pub to you!  We're open 7 days, from 11:00am 'til we just can't shuck any more!  Come visit us, put some South in your mouth, and enjoy!

It's a sad day for the Shuckums family. Our closest friend and favorite cook, Clarence, went to be with his Lord yesterday after a long illness. For 22 years, Clarence was the driving force in the Shuckums kitchen, not only cooking great food, but mentoring countless employees in a myriad of ways. Everybody new Clarence; locals and visitors alike loved chatting with him when he came out from the kitchen to visit. From his love of food (both cooking and eating!), to his laugh and especially his heart for others, everything about him was larger than life! He'll be desperately missed, and our only comfort is knowing that he's in a better Place…but we hope he's still going to be commanding our kitchen from Heaven!

Mack Carter, Owner of Shuckums, said, "If it wasn't for Clarence, I wouldn't be here today. He helped me to raise my girls; helped Samantha do her math homework in junior high. He was the heartbeat of this operation. He loved the Lord; we talked about it often. He's gone to be with God. We'll miss him."

As more details about memorial and funeral arrangements are made, we will continue to update this website.

We'll still be open, though, cookin' and shuckin' just like he'd want us to...Please feel free to stop in, say hi and have a bite to eat while reliving good times with him!
